Where is the center located?

We are located in the back of Westminster Presbyterian Church on Rugby Road near the Beta Bridge.  To get to our entrance, turn right onto Gordon Avenue past the church, turn right onto 17^th street (the sign is on the left), and then turn into the WPC church parking lot on the right.  Our entrance is located halfway down the parking lot.  Our office is the first door on the right on the second floor.

If you are coming from 29 North, turn left onto Barracks Road, go through two lights, turn right at the third light onto Rugby Road.  Go through the light at Grady Avenue.  Take the next left onto Gordon Avenue.  Turn right onto 17^th street (the sign is on the left) and then turn right into the WPC church parking lot.  Our entrance is located halfway down the parking lot. What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30-5:30.

What ages of children do you serve?

We provide care for children ages six weeks to 5 years.

What kind of training and background does the staff have?

Our teachers have various educational backgrounds such as a 4 year degree in a child related field, master credits in Education, a 2 year Early Childhood Certificate, a CDA (Child Development Associate National Credentialing Program), and/or various years of experience working with children. We prefer that most of our Full-time staff have a 4 year degree in a child related field. All of our teachers receive continuous early childhood training and meet or exceed training requirements set by Licensing. 

Do you provide meals?

Yes.  We have a full time cook on site who prepares a well-balanced, USDA approved breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.  We are a peanut/nut free facility.  We do not allow any outside food processed in a nut factory or containing any type of nut to be brought in to the center. 

How much is tuition?

Our tuition rates are on a sliding scale that is based on your family’s gross household income.  We require income verification for all families that are below the top tier of the scale to ensure that the family is properly placed on the scale.

When is tuition due?

Tuition fees are due on the first of every month.  If payment is not made by the fifth of the month, then late fees accrue at the rate of $10 per day.   If the fifth falls on a weekend, the grace period is on the following Monday of the month (i.e. the sixth or seventh of the month). 

Do you offer Part Time care?

Yes.  Our two infant rooms offer two part time options:  Mornings (7:30-12:30) or Afternoons (12:30-5:30).  Starting at sixteen months in our Toddler Room, we have the following options:  Mornings, afternoons, three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday full days) or two days a week (Tuesday and Thursday full days).  Part time options are only available when we have another family that complements your desired schedule.

What is your inclement weather policy?

We follow Charlottesville City School’s closings for inclement weather. This includes closings, delays and early releases. We broadcast our school closings on the TV, and radio as well as on our voicemail, ext. 22.

• WCCC is a Seal of Quality Child Care Provider since 2008.  Westminster Child Care Center is a 3 star rated program in the Virginia Star Quality Initiative by showing commitment to quality improvement.  We received our 3 star rating by the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation on June 5, 2009.  This rating is valid through June 2011.
