Summer Camp Facts
- This camp is an interactive 11-12 week program run out of room 203.
- Our summer camp is a unique hands on program for our graduating Preschoolers (must be 5 by September 30th), attending WCCC and going to Kindergarten their graduation year).
- We highlight the camp with daily field trips in and around Charlottesville, as well as long trips on the City of Charlottesville School buses to Richmond, Luray, Lexington, Staunton, and etc.
- The camp starts the Tuesday after Memorial Day, and goes through the 2nd Friday of August.
- The last day of camp and care for our Kindergarten bound children is that second Friday in August, as well as our graduation day for the Preschoolers.
- We host a graduation ceremony at WCCC from 4:30 to 5:00 in the Fellowship Hall, followed by a potluck dinner provided by families and teachers, in room 203 from 5:00 to 6:00pm.
- The purpose of this unique interactive program is to give our children the opportunity to experience our beautiful city and surrounding counties in Virginia and all the wonderful adventures they have to offer.
- We will do this through daily hands-on experiences, several weekly walks/trolley rides, and lots of exciting daily field trips.
- We focus on recycling at school as well as extending environmentally conscious ideas into their lives at home.
- Each day is a fun-filled, action packed unit with daily fieldtrips and recurrent weekly events such as swimming at lakes and pools, movie day, skating at the downtown mall, etc.
- Look forward to gymnastics classes, trips to Children’s and Science Museums in Richmond, Maymont Park, Luray Caverns, bowling, putt-putt golf, hiking, swimming, fruit picking, and much, much more!
- We make use of our city transportation, such as the city buses, City of Charlottesville School Buses, Jaunt and trolleys.
