We currently enroll 80 children total in our seven rooms. Child-staff ratios vary within each of the seven classrooms and are at or below state licensing limits.  Each classroom is designed to serve children of a particular age range, but teachers adjust activities to meet the developmental needs of the current children enrolled. Open-ended provocations offered to follow the interests of the children while promoting stimulation and appropriate challenges and meeting age-appropriate developmental goals.

 

All of our programs operate year-round. We have seven classrooms at WCCC. Our Butterflies Classroom is the only classroom that provides a different type of program in the summer.  This classroom provides a Summer Enrichment Program  from May to August each year.  A supplemental fee for those enrolled in this classroom will be added in addition to the regular monthly tuition to help cover additional field trip costs.

Infant Program
The Bumblebees Room teaches children between the ages of  6 weeks and 16 months old. There are eight children and two teachers in this class.

 

Toddler Program 

The Froggies Room teaches children between the ages of 16 months and 2 years old.  There are ten children and two teachers in this class.

The Climbers Room teaches children between the ages of 2 years and 3 years.  This classroom can have up to fourteen children and two teachers.

 

The Grasshoppers Room teaches children between the ages of 2 years and 3 years.  This classroom can have up to fourteen children and two teachers.
 

Preschool Program
The Stars Room teaches children between the ages of 2 3/4 years and 3 1/2 years.  This classroom can have up to fifteen children and two teachers.

The Crickets Room teaches children between the ages of 3 1/2 to 5 years of age. This classroom can have up to fifteen children and two teachers. 

The Butterflies Room teaches children between the ages of 4 and 5 years of age. There are ten children and one teacher in this class. Please Note: This classroom runs from September through mid-August for rising-kindergarteners. 

 

Summer Enrichment Program
The Summer Enrichment Program is a fun, thematically based summer program for our Butterflies classroom. This exciting program is field trip-heavy and provides children with a wide exposure to Charlottesville and the surrounding area through an array of interesting activities.  There is a one-time summer enrichment fee in addition to the monthly tuition, which helps cover trip expenses.
